2 years old...

Wow. Our boy is two.

Friday was a pretty quiet day in the morning. Lulu was off from school (long weekend holiday) and so she was here when he woke up. We wanted to go into his room and sing Happy Birthday to him when we got him up. When we heard him singing (we wakes up singing) we went in. We started singing "Happy Birthday to.... " and he finished for us........ 'YOU". He went on to sing the whole song. I had no idea that he knew the words to that song, or that he could say the words Happy or Birthday. It was a very nice birthday surprise for me.

We let him go the park and run around. It was one of these days that start out cold, so you get a sweater and long pants on, and then it just gets really hot. All he wanted to do was play in the sand. He got so much of it in his hair that I am still trying to get it out. He wouldn't look at the camera. Absolutely refused. I will have to take his 2 year old picture NOT on his actual birthday...but that is ok.

After he took a nice long nap (thank heavens), we went to Chuck E Cheeses w/ our friends, the Jacksons. Cubby was NOT impressed w/ it. He didn't like the giant animals. The reaction was the same as when we went to Disneyland. He cried and shook and refused to look at them. He wouldn't play with any of the games or toys. None. I take this kid to the grocery store and he is trying to climb the shelves, take him to a place where he is supposed to play and he wants to sit quietly at the table....silly boy.

He opened a few presents (mostly books...everything he got had Elmo on it) and got the hang of it really quickly. He knows all about blowing out candles but didn't want any of the cake. He didn't even eat one bite....... what am I going to do with this kid?

I gave him a kiss at 3:10 (when he was born) and told him how much we all love him...all of his family. I know he doesn't understand it yet, but he will some day. I was thinking a lot of you on Friday as well and sending prayers your way. I know that it is a happy day and a difficult day for you.

Here are a few pictures of the day................... looking forward to hearing that the attorney has the letter so I can send out the pictures.....

He loves putting sand in his hair!!

This is how Cubby sat the whole time...he didn't like the games or the lights or sounds...he just sat in a booth and looked nervous....

As long as he was close to Daddy he was just fine..

2 year old boy!!!

Derek was trying to get him to blow out the candle...

He did it!!

Elmo stuff!

We tried to get him to eat a piece of cake but he wasn't interested. This is my friend Suzi trying to give him a bite.... see the fork in the left corner?

Now see him turn his face away from it? He didn't even want to play in the frosting....
This is Cubby and Suzi. Even though we aren't related, she is like his Aunt. WHen he wants something he knows to just rest his head on her or to ask her..... he will even go to her first when he is sad or wants to have a book read to him......

Cheese!!! Smile!!!

Jacob loves to get his own sippy cup. First he looks in the drawer to see if there are any clean ones. He knows to get a tip, a bottom and a valve.

If there aren't enough lids in the drawer, he will go to the dishwasher next. He even knows how to open it up. He is a clever boy.

Just hop up on the door of the dishwasher and check the top shelf. He usually finds one there.

Victory. He found the cup

Mom's desk is really messy, but Jacob knows it is the place that the Diego theme song comes out. He likes to pretend that he is typing.

Yet another picture of Jacob eating in his chair. I know these seem all the same, but they can give you perspective on how big he is getting. He has a big boy haircut here. You can see how much fruit is on his tray. He loves fruit. He calls it all "bananna".

The Bingham kids. Norah is wearing the dress that Lulu was blessed in. This is the only picture that Jacob would sit still for. On all the rest he is just a blur in the background.

He LOVES this baby. He loves to hold her (you can see that here) and he kisses her hair or pats her cheeks. She is only a few weeks old here but he is a very proud and a very good big brother.

Sometimes I think he still wants to be the baby...

More swimming. This year we did the water wings with Cubby and he did great

With the water wings he could keep himself above the water, but still have freedom to move around and kick his legs

Hi Mom!!!

Feeding the baby...

Whether she wants it or not
